As we arrived on the specular Mowbray Park Farm, we are greeted by farmers Blair and Jacqui and their two dogs; Pearl and Archie. Mowbray Farm has a rich history dating back to the early days of European settlement in Australia. When exploring the farm, you get a sense of history mixing with the modern times.

The afternoon saw us explore the small town of Picton, shopping for supplies before sharing hot chocolate and marshmallows by the campfire.

Our tractor chauffeur arrived in the morning after breaky and we loaded up in the trailer to head down the hill to the nursery. There we helped farmer Blair feed every type of animal. The chickens, rabbits, pigs, goats, and donkeys all got a feed courtesy of the reliable help provided by our awesome trusted travellers. The crowd favourites were Saskia the donkey, Scooter the goat and Tom Tom the cat. We also got hands on with milking a cow, providing fresh milk for the farmhouse.

For morning tea, we made damper over the campfire. There’s nothing like the taste of crusty home-made damper, cooked ourselves and drizzled with golden syrup.

The afternoon saw us head to the Burragorang Lookout for an amazing view back towards the Blue Mountains.

For dinner we enjoyed a pub feed at The Oaks Hotel before heading back to the farm for a movie night.

The morning saw us heading to the nursey to feed the animals, milking the cow, and making damper. The afternoon activities saw us learning how to crack a whip and throw a boomerang. Before heading to Picton to enjoy a Thai for dinner.

Our final adventure saw us heading to Berrima, one of Australia’s most beautifully preserved villages from the early-colonial era. In Berrima we enjoyed a High Tea, shopping at the lolly store and saw the Old Court house.

Our final dinner together was at Picton Hotel, where we shared our favourite moments together this trip.

Thank you, Blair and Jacqui, for having us on your farm and sharing all your animal wisdom with us.
